Mornings Set the Tone

This morning, I changed some habits. I woke up a single hour earlier. I recognized that I often found myself rushing in the morning although I always found time for breakfast. What I didn't do each morning was take time to reflect and allow myself to make mistakes.

I moved this morning not with a spirit of rush and anxiety, but with preparation and a calm spirit instead. Think about packing for a trip. If you rush and throw things in a bag then just hop in the rental, you'll not only be sweating and turning that AC higher than someone who just got their tonsils removed, but you greatly increase your chances of forgetting to pack something. What happens when you prep before? You're more likely to remember more things and have that "ahhh" feeling once you get in the car. You're saying that the hard work is over and your vacation is finally beginning.

What you should takeaway:

  • Wake up early with a mindset of preparation

  • Treat your mornings as if your day depends on them

  • Remember how you treat others in the morning, you have a direct impact on how their day's tone is set

  • Eat breakfast

  • Listen to your favorite song in the morning

Breakfast today: strawberry greek yogurt with protein-packed honey oat granola
